Dan brings 24 years of Owner Representative experience to the Northstar team. In his role as Senior Project Manager, he is responsible for providing overall leadership to the project team in developing and implementing capital construction projects. He has worked on over 500 projects lifetime, representing a cumulative value of more than $1 billion, and is a member of the Associated General Contractors, as well as the Building Owners and Managers Association.
With a background in office and office space development, Dan's industry experience in asset acquisition, contract negotiation, and management brings an added level of expertise to Northstar. His work with zoning and easement issues, as well as budget development and tenant finishes, enhances his current project roster.
Dan is currently working on projects in Joplin, MO, as part of the Mercy rebuilding process necessitated by the devastating Cat-5 tornado in 2011. Projects completed include a 30,000 SF temporary modular hospital, replaced with a 150,000 SF component hospital, over 200,000 SF of temporary service provider space and demolition of over 1 million SF of old hospital campus. Current projects include Joplin Replacement Hospital Campus including 870,000 SF hospital with separate clinic and patient towers, 26,000 SF Central Energy Plant, $15 million roadwork and infrastructure project and $22 million in site work.
As part of the recovery effort, Dan has been instrumental in working with FEMA to recover the maximum amount of funds available from government sources not covered by insurance. His efforts have made it possible for Mercy to qualify for over $30 million in Disaster Recovery funds from FEMA/SEMA.
