Mercy Kids Center for Neurodevelopment

Northstar served as the Program Manager/Owner’s Representative on the Mercy Kids Center for Neurodevelopment Project. This facility brings together a range of specialized pediatric services in a modern, purpose-built environment that enhances patient care and family engagement.

The project included an interior demolition and reconstruction of 43,000 square feet within an existing building to create treatment and support spaces for Mercy’s Autism Services, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and NICU Follow-Up services.

In addition to the interior renovation, the project required extensive upgrades to the building’s infrastructure, including replacement of end-of-life MEP systems and repairs to a leaking building envelope. Addressing these existing conditions required careful planning, multidisciplinary coordination, and proactive management throughout design and construction. A specialized team of technical experts was engaged early in the project to identify existing deficiencies, evaluate potential solutions, and develop a comprehensive approach that successfully addressed each issue.

The project was successfully delivered on schedule and within budget, opening to patients in February 2026.
