Ronald McDonald House - St. Louis City Grove House
Ronald McDonald House Charities of St. Louis identified a need to replace two aging facilities and combine them into one larger facility, while also bringing their administrative staff under one roof. Increasingly more families travel to St. Louis seeking life-saving care at our world-class pediatric hospitals. When this life saving care is far from home, affordable accommodations help improve access to treatment, support health and well-being, and alleviate some of the financial and emotional stress of a serious illness. The new Ronald McDonald House is one of nearly 400 locations worldwide that help families stay close to their sick children when they need to heal.
The $35 million project includes a new 72-room house in St. Louis City. The new house is located on 2.6 acres at the corner of Chouteau and Tower Grove Avenues, equidistant from St. Louis Children’s Hospital and SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital.
The facility includes a full service commercial kitchen and dining area, an indoor play area, serenity spaces, family lounges on every floor, a 3rd floor exterior terrace, a large multipurpose meeting space, and to serve as the corporate headquarters for the administrative staff of the organization.
The 4-story, L-shaped building is +/- 72,500 gross square feet.
