Understanding the role of the AHJ.
The Authority Having Jurisdiction, or AHJ, means the organization, office or individual(s) responsible for approving drawings, equipment, installation or procedure. The AHJ plays a crucial role in ensuring fire and life safety in buildings, and it is essential that owners and their facility managers are clear on the parties in this role. Northstar has extensive experience and knowledge of building codes and regulatory requirements and will help facilitate the AHJ reviews and approvals.
