Recognizing the growing needs of the community, the hospital's clinic realized additional providers were needed in rapid fashion; however, space would be the limiting factor during recruitment. It quickly became apparent that speed-to-market delivery was of the upmost concern to leadership in order to meet the market demands.
Recognizing the need for a fast-tracked project, Northstar quickly organized the design team and secured a CM for pre-construction services to reduce time from design completion to construction start. Fast-tracking is risky in that other project team resources, outside of designer and constructor, can fall behind. In order to ensure the entire team kept up with the project, we used our ability to effectively communicate across all levels to set timing expectations at the forefront of everyone's efforts. Continuing this multi-level communication strategy all the way through occupancy ensured clear understanding at transition and operational start-up as well as expedited the availability of space.
